thoughts on the matchup

God made Matthew and Revelation matchup using the authors of those books. Matthew and John probably did not work together to make the match up. God worked subtly through them, because God lives inside Christians and helps us. This is an example of how all of humanity, that remains in The book of Life, will work together for all of eternity with God working through us. It's amazing because we don't feel like God is taking control of our thoughts or making our fingers type like robots, we're working together.   Nobody realized Jesus was God in a flesh body. Even after Jesus resurrected from the dead some of the people who saw him doubted. It is highly likely that people will not realize when Satan is physically here on Earth. Humanity did not recognize Jesus and humanity will not recognize the Antichrist. The danger of this is that worshiping the Antichrist will result in people getting thrown into the lake of fire for all of eternity. The Matthew Revelation matchup could be...

🤔broaden your perspective! 😊

Get started:  myrrh and Smyrna. Smyrna is Greek for the word myrrh. Match them up.  Matthew and Revelation chapter 5. "set" and "sat". Matthew and Revelation 13:9 ears to hear  Matthew 14:1 and Revelation 14:3. Tetrarch and four beasts. Matthew 16:1 and Revelation 15:1. A sign. Matthew 21 and Revelation 19. Jesus rides. 3 reasons God may have made Matthew and Revelation match up.  God does the unexpected. For example Jesus' crucifixion and Resurrection and the Great tribulation to come. This matchup may be a reminder. God works through us to complete a larger plan. We may be working with others, but don't realize it.

prophecy

Rev.1 [ 1 ] The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: [ 2 ] Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. [ 3 ] Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

why is this important ?

matching up Matthew and Revelation demonstrates that God can weave subtle relationships and ideas into people's minds as they work towards a common goal. in this case the goal is to spread the gospel message of Jesus. the eternal kingdom of God will grow without end. God will work with us and through us to achieve this. we will have the seal of God in our foreheads for all of eternity.

Summarizing

The idea is that Matthew and revelation can be matched up sequentially by contiguous sections of text. Matthew 1 through 25 matches up with Revelation 1 through 22. There's one small place in Matthew that does not match anything in Revelation, see if you can find it. In some places whole chapters match up nicely for instance Matthew 10 and Revelation 7, but this is the exception rather than the rule. It would be nice if chapter 1 matched chapter 1 and 2 matched 2 and so forth, but they don't. You can read these blog entries to piece it together or figure it out for yourself, you decide. The two blogs cover the same subject matter but in different ways.

David

Matthew 22 [ 41 ] While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, [ 42 ] Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. [ 43 ] He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, [ 44 ] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? [ 45 ] If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? [ 46 ] And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. Revelation 22 [ 16 ] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

To the higher critics

Criticize this: Matthew 21 [ 12 ] And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves , [ 13 ] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. Revelation 19 [ 21 ] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. Rev.20 [ 1 ] And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [ 2 ] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, [ 3 ] And cast him into the bottomless pit , and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a litt...
